About the Role

As a Porter at our West 129th Street Home, you will serve as a vital member of the care team under the supervision of the Superintendent and Administrator. Your primary goal is to enable residents to live as safely and independently as possible by maintaining a clean, hazard-free, and welcoming environment.

This role goes beyond routine cleaning; it requires a compassionate approach to daily interactions. You will work cooperatively with staff to establish a high level of care and respect for our residents. By sharing observations about resident progress, needs, and problems, you help ensure a supportive community atmosphere. You will also be the first line of defense in maintaining safety by keeping common areas, stairwells, and sidewalks free of hazards like snow or ice.

Hiring Process & Application

Multiple shifts are available to accommodate different schedules, including Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, both from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment with both staff and residents.
