This recruitment is exclusively for certified police officers seeking to join the City of Miami Police Department. The position requires independent judgment and the ability to act without direct supervision during emergencies. Officers patrol designated areas, often in a patrol vehicle, to preserve law and order, prevent crime, and enforce traffic regulations. The role involves high-stakes interactions, from responding to emergencies like homicide and robbery to mediating community conflicts and resolving quality-of-life issues using problem-solving models like SARA (Scanning, Analysis, Response, Assessment).
