About the Role

As a Plumber, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of essential infrastructure. You will assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems in strict accordance with specifications and plumbing codes. Your work involves studying building plans and working drawings to determine necessary work aids and installation sequences, ensuring that structural obstructions are avoided to prevent weakening of the building.

In this position, you will locate and mark pipe positions, cut openings in walls and floors, and thread pipes using specialized hand and power tools. You will assemble and install valves and piping made from various materials, including metals like iron, steel, brass, and lead, as well as nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic. Your responsibilities extend to joining pipes using screws, bolts, solder, and solvents, testing systems for leaks, and installing or repairing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, and dishwashers. You will also perform maintenance tasks like replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains, potentially welding holding fixtures to steel structural members.
