The Planning Manager will lead the Planning Division within the Development and Permitting Services Department (DPS). This division includes planning services, permitting services, building services, fire prevention, development engineering, and code enforcement. The Planning Division itself consists of six employees dedicated to shaping the city's future through comprehensive planning and land use management.
This is a supervisory, administrative, and professional position responsible for directing the Planning Division. The role exists to ensure the division meets its annual objectives while integrating current and long-range planning functions. You will oversee land use permit processing, public information efforts, and code compliance activities, ensuring that the city's growth aligns with its comprehensive plan.
In this role, you will supervise full-time, part-time, and temporary employees, managing their performance, training, and development. You will be the primary point of contact for the Department Director, Planning Commission, City Council, Hearing Examiner, consultants, developers, and the public.
