About the Team

Banner Children's Specialists (BCS) is a multispecialty group operating on the campuses of Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale. The Urology Division currently comprises four physicians and four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). With the upcoming retirement of a longstanding physician, the team is expanding to meet the needs of a growing and thriving pediatric community.

Our Pediatric specialty teams work closely with colleagues in Gastroenterology, Nephrology, General Surgery, and Cardiology to provide comprehensive care. About the Role

We are actively recruiting a Pediatric Urologist to join our team on the Banner Desert campus. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in working in a high-volume environment with supportive leadership. The role involves primarily practicing general urology, performing minor procedures, and conducting in-office circumcisions.

The position offers year-long resident coverage and support, as well as academic appointment opportunities with the University of Arizona. You will have access to advanced resources, including a Da Vinci XI surgical robot and an operative video urodynamic suite. The team serves a pediatric population of over 350,000, supported by a large referral network of internal pediatricians and the broader Banner Health Network.

About the Facilities

Banner Children's at Desert (BDMC) in Mesa is a state-of-the-art, 206-bed children's hospital designed "Through the Eyes of a Child." It features non-procedure zones like the Forever Young Zone, Sophie's Place, and the Big Outside, which are used for music and play therapy, respite, and relaxation. Child Life professionals play an active role in ensuring children feel safe and prepared for the hospital experience.

Banner Children's at Thunderbird (BTMC) in Glendale is a 33-acre acute-care facility featuring a recently completed $290 million expansion. This includes a spacious main lobby, a patient/family library, a heart and vascular center, state-of-the-art surgical suites, and a 200-bed patient tower.
