We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our inpatient cancer team at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. In this role, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the supervision of a physician to establish diagnoses and plan therapies. You will serve as a vital advocate in the medical care system, acting as a confidant, advisor, and liaison between the patient and the physician.
Your day-to-day will involve performing initial assessments and triage, tracking procedure and laboratory results, and coordinating follow-up care with the outpatient cancer institute team. You will participate in joint rounds with attending physicians and fellows, and once competent, perform specialized procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures. This position offers a balanced professional career in central Pennsylvania, known for convenient community living and proximity to major cities like New York, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia.
This role operates on a rotating schedule, typically working one week on and one week off. Shifts are 12 hours long (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM or 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) with a night shift rotation that includes a night incentive. The position requires coverage for weekends and holidays, with a maximum of 14 shifts per month. The work is performed in a clinical inpatient environment.
