The Role
This position is designed for talented, highly-motivated individuals who share a natural desire to support the meaningful work of community oncologists and the patients we serve. You will provide safe, quality care throughout the entire patient journey, from diagnosis to end of life. Your focus will be on helping patients manage their diagnosis while retaining autonomy and independence through appropriate disease, symptom, and psychosocial management techniques. The role requires an empathetic and caring approach, utilizing critical assessment skills to evaluate patient concerns, manage acute illnesses, and navigate complex treatment plans alongside the care team.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleStart peripheral IVs and manage central venous access devices including ports
- check_circleMix and administer chemotherapy and other drugs according to practice standards
- check_circleEnsure timely collection of all ordered laboratory specimens
- check_circleMonitor PT/INR results and manage anticoagulation therapy with providers
- check_circleConduct patient education and document understanding during the informed consent process
- check_circleScreen patients for distress and provide counseling or referrals to support services
- check_circleNavigate the Electronic Medical Record to document patient information and services
- check_circleComplete daily drug inventory counts, supply requests, and waste documentation
- check_circleGenerate and review daily clinical reports for completion and accuracy
- check_circleCoordinate and perform direct patient care while collaborating with care providers
Requirements
