The Physician/Medical Director serves as the clinical leader for Healthcare Providers across various post-acute facilities. This role is dedicated to delivering in-patient holistic medical services by leveraging innovative technologies to enhance patient access and improve quality outcomes. The position focuses on the comprehensive planning, direction, and evaluation of resident and patient care, ranging from the examination and treatment of chronic and acute episodic illnesses to the management of minor injuries and accidents.
As a central figure in the Post Acute Medical Team, the Medical Director acts as a key resource for decisions, planning, and policies that directly impact the health of residents. The role requires exercising professional judgment to consult with providers on appropriate treatments and collaborating closely with Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and facility staff to identify needs and develop effective care plans. The role is dynamic, involving frequent interactions with patients, employees, visitors, and government agencies under all conditions. Physicians in this role may work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the facilities and may be required to temporarily fill other positions. The environment is subject to frequent interruptions and standard healthcare risks, including exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and physical hazards such as falls or burns.
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care through ongoing quality improvement objectives, safety protocols, and environmental and infection control standards. The Medical Director is expected to remain current with medical developments and best practices by attending conferences and seminars. Additionally, the role involves serving on critical committees, such as Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Antibiotic Stewardship, to drive organizational health and safety.
Candidates must possess a D. or D.O. degree from an accredited United States medical school, successful completion of an accredited residency program, and board certification in primary care or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience as a primary care physician in a post-acute facility is required, along with a current license in the State of Washington and active DEA and DPS registrations for prescription writing.
