As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving the patient's well-being. You will work within a supportive environment that challenges you and provides clear direction on what it takes to succeed, while offering development opportunities for other roles you may be interested in.
Your day will involve following state-specific laws and the established plan of care defined by the supervising Physical Therapist. You will instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, and functional activities. A key part of your role is observing, recording, and reporting patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and physician, while coordinating care with other healthcare team members. You will also educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy within your scope of practice, functioning effectively in any home situation regardless of the client's background or condition.
