As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving the patient's well-being. You will work within a supportive environment that challenges you and provides clear direction on what it takes to succeed, while offering development opportunities for other roles you may be interested in.
You will be responsible for following state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and performing procedures only as defined by the supervising Physical Therapist. Your day-to-day involves instructing and aiding patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, and safety protocols. You will observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and physician, coordinating care with the broader healthcare team. Additionally, you will instruct patients, families, and caregivers in therapy areas within your scope of practice.
