This position serves as a Physical Therapist at Cape Cod Hospital, dedicated to evaluating new patients and establishing objective, measurable treatment goals for functional outcomes. The role involves administering diagnostic tests to determine the extent of impairment and prognosis, then carrying out appropriate treatment modalities while continuously re-evaluating and modifying plans based on patient progress.
Beyond direct patient care, the Physical Therapist provides comprehensive documentation, patient and family education, and effective communication with medical and allied health personnel regarding progress and discharge planning. The role also includes instructing patients and families in therapeutic procedures for continued care at home.
For the PT Clinical Specialist track (S19T), the role expands to serve as a clinical resource for rehabilitation staff in a focused area of expertise. Specialists are expected to plan and conduct treatment programs while assisting management in the planning, development, organization, and supervision of the specified clinical specialty area. Certification in the specialist area is required.
