UNM Hospital is New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma center and the state's premier teaching hospital. The Women's Health Physical Therapy team operates within the UNM Physical Therapy program, offering a dynamic environment where clinical practice meets academic excellence. Team members frequently collaborate with Uro-gynecology providers to present continuing education programs and actively participate in fellow interviews and research initiatives.
This Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy position is based in an outpatient clinic, working in close collaboration with Uro-gynecology providers. While services are primarily focused on Women's Health and pelvic floor issues, the role also serves men with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. The position involves organizing and delivering medically-prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability across a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Educational opportunities abound within the department. Many therapists teach within the UNM Physical Therapy program, and the role includes training medical, nursing, and ancillary personnel. We welcome new graduates; selected candidates will be supported by a strong mentorship program, though prior experience is preferred.
