UNM Hospital is New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma center and the state's premier teaching hospital. The Women's Health Physical Therapy team operates within the WHC Physical Therapy department, working in close collaboration with Uro-gynecology providers. Our team is deeply embedded in the academic mission of the university; members frequently present continuing education programs, participate in Uro-gynecology fellows' interviews and research, and teach within the UNM Physical Therapy program. Educational opportunities abound for those who join us.
We are seeking a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to work in our outpatient clinic. While services are primarily focused on Women's Health and pelvic floor issues, the role also serves men with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. You will organize and deliver medically-prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Your patient care assignments may span Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.
This is a 0.75 FTE position on Days. We welcome new graduates and value experience; selected candidates will be supported by a strong mentorship program. You will evaluate patients to determine treatment goals, outline therapy delivery, and plan programs involving physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, sound, water, light, and electricity. Beyond direct patient care, you will consult with medical staff, educate patients and caregivers on specialized equipment and safety, and supervise physical therapy students and volunteers.
In addition to a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, this role offers significant shift differentials: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a valid New Mexico Physical Therapist License (or temporary license) are encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills in English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo are highly valued. Please note that CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
