UNMH is New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma center and the state's premier teaching hospital. The Women's Health Physical Therapy team operates within the Clinical Care department, focusing primarily on Women's Health and Pelvic Floor issues while also serving men with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. The team works in close collaboration with Uro-gynecology providers, often presenting continuing education programs and participating in Uro-gynecology fellows' interviews and research. Many therapists also teach within the UNM Physical Therapy program, creating an environment where educational opportunities abound.
