UNMH is New Mexico's only Level 1 trauma center and the state's premier teaching hospital. The Women's Health Physical Therapy team operates within a dynamic outpatient clinic, working in close collaboration with Uro-gynecology providers. Members of the team frequently present continuing education programs and participate in Uro-gynecology fellows' interviews and research. Many therapists also teach within the UNM Physical Therapy program, creating an environment where educational opportunities abound.
This Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy position focuses primarily on Women's Health and pelvic floor issues, while also serving men with pelvic floor pain and dysfunction. The role involves organizing and delivering medically-prescribed physical therapy to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Patient care assignments may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.
While experience is preferred, new graduates are welcome. Selected candidates will be supported by a strong mentorship program designed to foster professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-services, meetings, and workshops.
Candidates selected for this role will be supported with a strong mentorship program. The position is a 0.75 FTE role on Days shift. Compensation includes shift differentials: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.
