About the Role
As a Physical Therapist at Avera McKennan Hospital, you will be the driving force behind the daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services. This role exists to implement specific treatment programs for individual patients and groups, ensuring that care is delivered according to the highest principles of the profession and the established objectives of our department.
In this position, you will evaluate patients by gathering data from records, interviews, and observations to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Your day-to-day involves instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home programs, while continuously modifying intervention strategies based on ongoing evaluations. You will provide direct therapy services tailored to each patient's physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, coordinating closely with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans.
Beyond direct patient care, you will serve as a leader within the department by overseeing physical therapy assistants, technicians, and students to ensure safe patient care and smooth operations. You will also maintain active professional growth through educational programs and workshops, while ensuring all documentation meets professional and departmental standards.
