As a Physical Therapist within the Primary Care Health Systems department, you will serve as a vital partner in the Kenaitze Indian Tribe's mission to support the wellness of our community. You will provide comprehensive physical therapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning to assist un'ina (people) in recovering from injury, managing illness, and improving overall mobility and wellness.
This role goes beyond clinical treatment; it is about fostering a culture of health. You will collaborate closely with the integrated care team and Fitness staff to develop wellness-oriented programs that prevent loss of mobility and encourage active lifestyles. By utilizing motivational interviewing principles and culturally-honoring service, you will guide un'ina through their recovery journey, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to make healthier choices.
You will work within a collaborative environment that values professional growth and community connection. The team emphasizes best practice guidelines and wellness promotion, requiring you to maintain your own physical, mental, and spiritual wellness to serve as a role model. We seek a team player who is committed to providing courteous, culturally-honoring service to all un'ina, staff, and visitors.
This position is subject to the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPA). Candidates must be able to comply with these requirements to remain in the position. Preference is given to applicants under TERO Ordinance 2017-01 and P.L. 93-638.
