As a Classroom Teacher and Coach, you will serve as a vital catalyst for student growth, fostering intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Your mission is to provide appropriate learning activities in your assigned core academic subject, helping students fulfill their potential and develop the competencies needed to function successfully in society. This role extends beyond the classroom, requiring you to be a positive role model who actively supports the school district's mission.
Your day is dedicated to creating an environment conducive to learning that respects the physical, social, and emotional needs of every student. You will design and implement lesson plans that reflect diverse learning styles and adhere to Texas Education Agency guidelines, district curriculum requirements, and board policies. A significant part of your role involves collaborating with special education teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and working with instructional aides and volunteers to ensure comprehensive support.
Beyond instruction, you will manage student behavior in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct and maintain open, professional communication with parents, colleagues, and the community. As a coach, you will assume responsibility for extracurricular activities, guiding students in their personal growth outside of academic hours. You will also participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and committees to ensure continuous professional growth and compliance with state and district regulations.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate with the required endorsements. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days. Physical Education teachers must possess a current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate. One year of student teaching or an approved internship is required.
Interested candidates should submit their application through the district's official hiring portal. The hiring process includes a review of qualifications, followed by interviews with campus leadership. Final selection is at the sole discretion of the District.
