This position is dedicated to the critical operation of wastewater treatment facilities. The role requires a professional who can comprehend, apply, and analyze complex elements of waste stream management to ensure environmental compliance and operational safety.
Operators are responsible for evaluating the physical characteristics of the waste stream, performing security, safety, and administrative procedures, and maintaining equipment. The role involves operating treatment machinery, monitoring and adjusting treatment processes, and conducting laboratory analysis.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED Certificate; post-secondary education in Chemistry or Biology is preferred. Applicants require three years of experience operating the specific categories of facilities identified in the job title. Within one year of employment, the incumbent must achieve and maintain a Level 3 ADEQ certification (or equivalent) for these facility categories.
A valid Driver's License, CDL Learner's Permit, or CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement is required, subject to a motor vehicle record review. Incumbents must obtain a CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement within nine months of their start date.
