About the Role
This is a unique dual-role position within Craven County Schools, designed to support both the classroom environment and student transportation. As a Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver, you will serve as a vital extension of the teaching staff, providing academic assistance and individualized instruction to students, while simultaneously ensuring their safe transport to and from school, field trips, and other activities.
The role requires a seamless transition between two distinct but complementary responsibilities. In the classroom, you will work under the limited supervision of the teacher and principal to reinforce learning, manage student behavior, and assist with instructional preparation. Outside the classroom, you will operate a school bus or activity bus, adhering to strict safety protocols to transport students. Success in this position demands the ability to perform both sets of essential functions effectively.
