As an Outpatient Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and the diagnostic process, processing blood draws with a focus on patient care and positive communication. Your work provides the critical laboratory information physicians need for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases.
In this role, you will interact professionally with laboratory management, physicians, hospital staff, and patients to ensure optimal care. You will perform phlebotomy at outpatient draw stations, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and healthcare clinics, serving adults, adolescents, and infants. Your day-to-day involves positively identifying patients, labeling specimens with two unique identifiers, and processing physician orders for lab tests. You will be an integral part of a team that maintains a safe, efficient environment, adhering to OSHA and TOSHA safety regulations. Whether driving lab courier vehicles to off-site locations or training new employees and students, you will contribute to the mission of delivering the highest level of culturally competent care.
