As an Outpatient Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and the diagnostic process. Your role is to process patients requiring blood draws with a focus on patient care, high-level customer satisfaction, and positive communication with hospital staff and co-workers. You will conduct laboratory tests that provide critical information to physicians for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of diseases.
This position offers a dynamic day-to-day experience where you will interact professionally with laboratory management, physicians, and patients. You will perform phlebotomy at outpatient draw stations, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and healthcare clinics, serving a diverse population including adults, adolescents, and infants. Your work involves collecting specimens for special procedures like therapeutic phlebotomy and glucose tolerance testing, processing physician orders, and utilizing computer systems to ensure accurate specimen tracking and results entry. You will also drive lab courier vehicles to off-site locations as needed, ensuring the seamless flow of laboratory services throughout the community.
