The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) combines education, research, and clinical programs to champion a collaborative healthcare organization. Our mission is focused on improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans, while actively supporting teamwork and diversity within our community.
As a Pharmacy Technician IV within the Specialty Pharmacy team, you will serve as a vital link between patients and their complex infusion medication needs. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, your primary focus is ensuring excellent customer service and the seamless management of specialty infusion medications.
In this role, you will coordinate closely with financial assistance, prior authorization, and scheduling teams to streamline patient access. A significant portion of your day involves proactive outreach to patients, reminding them of upcoming appointments and checking on their overall wellbeing. You will also act as a role model for the team, assisting in the training of new staff and helping colleagues navigate complex adjudication processes and billing issues. While you manage the logistical and administrative aspects of patient care, all clinical decisions are referred to the pharmacist, ensuring you operate strictly within the pharmacy technician's scope of practice.
