At Connecticut Children's, the Pharmacy Business Manager serves as a critical operational and fiscal leader within the pharmacy business unit. This role is dedicated to ensuring the seamless procurement, billing, and compliant administration of the 340B Drug Pricing Program across all covered entity locations and contract pharmacy arrangements. The position acts as a strategic partner to pharmacy leadership, bridging the gap between clinical needs and financial stewardship to support medication availability and regulatory excellence.
As a subject matter expert on automated dispensing systems and 340B operations, you will provide direct leadership to procurement and 340B team members while offering indirect oversight to pharmacists and technicians regarding workflow compliance. Your day-to-day involves managing complex purchasing workflows, inventory controls, and vendor relationships to mitigate risks and identify savings opportunities. You will be the driving force behind audit readiness, ensuring that all operations adhere to state and federal regulations, including DSCSA and controlled substance laws. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of the 340B program while optimizing financial performance and operational efficiency.
Candidates selected for an interview will engage in a multi-stage process designed to assess technical expertise and cultural fit. The process typically includes an initial screening to verify qualifications, followed by a technical deep-dive focusing on 340B compliance and procurement strategy. Subsequent rounds may involve system design discussions, scenario-based problem solving, and team fit interviews with pharmacy leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Finalists will receive a detailed offer outlining compensation and benefits upon successful completion of all interviews and reference checks.
