The PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Resident is a pharmacist who will complete postgraduate education alongside established pharmacists within the HealthNet Federally Qualified Health Centers. This role is designed to bridge advanced clinical training with real-world community health needs.
In this position, you will serve as a vital member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee, conferring with practitioners and nursing staff to address medication questions and irregularities. You will participate in medication usage evaluations and ensure the proper handling of medications to maintain safety standards. The role requires you to develop and implement strategies that align with HealthNet's goals, identifying cost-saving or revenue-generating initiatives while navigating complex legal, regulatory, and reimbursement issues.
You will also act as a liaison for departmental projects, potentially leading initiatives such as 340B program management, new information technology implementation, or the establishment of new pharmacy-related services. As a resident, you will supervise pharmacy staff, technicians, students, and interns, holding team members accountable to departmental policies while adapting to changes in patient acuity and workflow challenges.
