Founded in 1901, Walgreens proudly serves nearly 9 million customers and patients each day across approximately 8,500 stores throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. With a workforce of nearly 220,000 team members, including over 90,000 healthcare service providers, we are committed to being the first choice for pharmacy, retail, and health services. Our mission is to build trusted relationships that create healthier futures for our customers, patients, team members, and communities.
This position serves as the clinical and operational anchor of the pharmacy, driving a strategic shift from a purely transactional model to an interpersonal, patient-centered healthcare experience. You will provide empathetic consulting services to patients, ensuring the effective use of medications and awareness of drug interactions while delivering preventive and clinical healthcare services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and disease state management.
Beyond clinical duties, you will manage the efficiency of the pharmacy workflow, oversee inventory, and enhance the financial performance of the department. A key part of your day involves leading the pharmacy team through focused coaching, formal performance management, and professional development initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to define strategic business opportunities, foster a shared vision, and cultivate a culture of care that reflects the unique communities we serve.
Qualified candidates will be considered for this role based on their clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and alignment with Walgreens' values. The selection process typically involves a review of credentials, followed by interviews focused on operational management and patient care scenarios. Internal candidates must meet specific performance rating thresholds and disciplinary history requirements.
Walgreens is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and veterans. We consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. We are committed to building a diverse workforce and fostering an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive.
