About the Role
The Pharmacy Manager serves as the clinical and operational leader of the pharmacy department, driving the strategic shift from a transactional model to an interpersonal, patient-centered healthcare experience. In this role, you will provide empathetic consulting services to patients, ensuring the effective use of medications and awareness of drug interactions while overseeing preventive and clinical healthcare services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing.
You will manage the entire pharmacy workflow, from compounding and verifying prescriptions to maintaining inventory and optimizing financial performance. Beyond clinical duties, you are responsible for fostering a culture of engagement and professional development among pharmacy staff. By overseeing training, coaching, and performance management, you will ensure the team delivers a distinctive and joyful patient experience that reflects Walgreens' core service traits of curiosity, empathy, and inclusivity.

Requirements
- verifiedBS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution
- verifiedCurrent pharmacist licensure in the states within the district
- verifiedCertified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire
- verifiedAt least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing
- verifiedExperience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws
- verifiedSupervisory experience planning, organizing, and directing the work of pharmacy staff
- verifiedAt least 6 months pharmacy experience with Walgreen Co.
- verifiedAn average rating of at least 3.0 on the leadership behaviors on the last performance review if one is on file, and no written disciplinary actions in the last 12 months (Internal candidates only)
Nice to Have
Supervisory experience planning, organizing, and directing the work of pharmacy staff. At least 6 months pharmacy experience with Walgreen Co. An average rating of 3.7 or above on the leadership behaviors on the last performance review if one is on file (Internal candidates only).
