About the Role
We are seeking a part-time pharmacist to join our pharmacy team on Staten Island, NY. The ideal candidate will bring previous expertise in managing a pharmacy alongside exceptional patient-service skills. This role is designed for someone with up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and experience navigating drug interactions.
In this position, you will dispense medication by completing prescription orders issued by physicians while counseling customers on reactions, side effects, dosage, and proper storage. You will offer expert support and guidance by providing exceptional customer service and answering questions regarding common medical needs, such as diabetes, asthma, smoking cessation, and high blood pressure. Additionally, you will counsel and train patients on the proper use of medical devices and supplies, partnering with healthcare professionals to review the quality and effectiveness of drugs while providing advice on usage and observed side effects.
Beyond clinical duties, you will manage administrative operations by ordering and purchasing supplies to manage stock and handling, as well as maintaining excellent records and files of patient information.
