About the Role
This position serves as a critical component of the Personnel Security Specialist (PSS) team, providing essential support for security assessment investigations, background checks, and the determination of employment suitability. The role exists to ensure the integrity of the security clearance process by rigorously analyzing complex data and identifying potential risks to national security. You will act as an expert on project teams, applying extensive knowledge of security disciplines to review investigative files, extract identifying information, and assess the reliability, trustworthiness, and loyalty of individuals seeking access to classified information or FBI facilities.
In this capacity, you will conduct detailed analyses of personal history statements, verify information submitted on applications, and utilize advanced interview skills to gather in-depth details from subjects. Your work involves drafting summary sheets, evaluating adverse information, and preparing reports that support adjudication decisions. You will also contribute to security briefings and assist in the continuous evaluation of employees to maintain eligibility for employment. The role requires the ability to work with minimum direction to solve complex problems and communicate findings through written documentation and oral presentations.
Hiring Process

The role requires an active Top Secret US Government Clearance, and US citizenship is mandatory to maintain this status.

Knowledge of DOJ and FBI regulations regarding the personnel security process. Experience conducting interviews and security briefings, discussing analysis and opinion in a concise, logical and objective manner, and preparing written communications setting forth analyses and recommendations. Thorough knowledge of the indices systems, various record check systems, and file review processes to develop and extract the most complete and accurate information relative to the subject as possible. Demonstrated understanding of Federal Investigative Standards (FIS), Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), Executive Orders (EOs), and U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (US CFR).
