Are you a culinary professional seeking a career path that offers superior work-life balance and growth opportunities beyond the typical constraints of a sous chef or line cook role? This full-time personal chef position is designed for those who value consistency, offering a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 am to 6 pm, ensuring your evenings and weekends remain free.
In this role, you will serve as a personal chef for 8-9 clients weekly, managing the entire culinary experience from grocery shopping and meal planning to cooking and kitchen cleanup. This position provides a unique platform to showcase your creativity across a variety of cuisines while building meaningful, long-term relationships with clients who deeply appreciate your culinary expertise.
Beyond standard meal preparation, this role offers a dynamic day-to-day experience that extends into the broader culinary world. You will have the opportunity to host intimate private dining events and dinner parties, teach cooking classes as a culinary instructor, and lead corporate team-building workshops. Additionally, you may support special projects such as menu design and event catering, allowing you to grow beyond the kitchen into events, education, and leadership.
What distinguishes this role from traditional restaurant environments is the freedom to interact directly with clients and the creative license to design menus without the rigid constraints of high-volume service. Unlike restaurant jobs that often demand regular late nights and weekends, this position offers predictable hours and a clear pathway to evolve into a private chef, event chef, or culinary leader.
We invest heavily in our chefs through hands-on training, mentorship, and structured career development programs. If you are someone who enjoys taking initiative, building relationships, and driving growth, this role offers virtually unlimited potential. We value hard work, creativity, and dedication, rewarding exceptional performance with a clear pathway to financial advancement, including a well-deserved raise at the one-year mark contingent upon favorable evaluations.
Our interview process is designed to assess both your fit and your culinary skills. It begins with a 15-minute fit call, followed by a video interview. Candidates will then complete a bench test where they cook a meal (with reimbursement provided), and finally, a full-day paid stage to demonstrate their capabilities in a real-world setting.
Qualified applicants should possess a minimum of four years of line experience, a sense of urgency, strong people skills, and attention to detail. A ServSafe Manager certification and state-specific Allergen certification are required, along with a reliable vehicle. Previous familiarity with computer systems, email, Google Workspaces, and social media is preferred. All applicants offered a position will be subject to a background check, and travel may be required during training (compensated by the company). A cover letter is highly encouraged.
We utilize E-Verify to electronically confirm Form I-9 information to verify employee identity and employment eligibility. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every candidate is evaluated based on their skills and potential.
