This position serves as a vital support function within the local permitting and inspection department, bridging the gap between the public and complex regulatory processes. The successful candidate will act as a primary point of contact for residents and businesses navigating the requirements for building, fire system, and zoning permits. The role exists to ensure that all development applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in strict compliance with municipal codes, while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
In this capacity, you will manage the end-to-end workflow of permit issuance and plan review. Your day will involve interacting with applicants in person and over the phone to explain policies, clarify procedures, and resolve inquiries. You will be responsible for reviewing applications for completeness, checking required seals and signatures, and sorting inspection schedules. While routine matters are handled independently, you will also identify complex zoning issues requiring detailed analysis of site and architectural documents, referring them to supervisors when necessary.
Interested candidates must be prepared to complete an Excel assessment as part of the selection process. This step is designed to evaluate practical proficiency with the tools required for the daily tasks of the role.
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Orlando, FL. The standard work schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
