Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, supports the Mission Systems Group and related military avionics programs at our Lexington Park, MD facility. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the mission effectiveness and safety of flight across the Naval Aviation enterprise. We focus on the development, integration, and fielding of robust, reliable, and precise navigation capabilities that enable global reach and interoperability within modernized civil and military airspace environments.
As a PNT/GPS Engineer, you will serve as a key contributor to the Performance Based Navigation (PBN) engineering efforts. This role exists to bridge the gap between advanced navigation technologies and the practical needs of Navy and Marine Corps platforms. You will apply systems engineering principles to support the integration of Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) capabilities, ensuring aircraft can operate safely in NextGen and international airspace structures.
In this position, you will work directly within a team of engineers to formulate technical direction and develop specifications. Your day-to-day involves providing hands-on engineering analysis and technical support for aircraft integration, including Area Navigation (RNAV), Required Navigation Performance (RNP), and Flight Management System (FMS) architectures. You will act as a practicing engineer, offering guidance to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and senior navigation engineers to ensure compliance with global airspace mandates and DoD requirements.
Candidates must possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance. The selection process involves a review of technical qualifications and clearance eligibility to ensure alignment with the rigorous standards of the Naval Aviation enterprise.
We value strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse engineering disciplines. Our team works closely with external groups, NAWCAD, and NAVAIR to evaluate evolving civil aviation mandates and data-link requirements. We are committed to maintaining a culture of technical excellence and safety, ensuring that our engineering efforts directly enable mission success.
