Liberty Resources is a growing organization dedicated to providing high-quality, integrated, community-based services that meet the evolving needs of our communities. We pride ourselves on a workforce with a deep passion for the services we provide, guided by corporate values of excellence and staff support. We are committed to building a diverse workforce that values the contributions of all team members, actively recognizing cultural beliefs, traditions, language preferences, and health practices to ensure positive health outcomes for the populations we serve.
We are seeking a Part-Time Peer Specialist to join our team in providing immediate, compassionate support to individuals navigating addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. This role is vital for engaging the unhoused population, reducing barriers to essential services, and assisting participants in navigating housing and community resources.\n The Peer Specialist leverages their own lived experience with addiction, homelessness, and/or mental health, combined with sustained recovery expertise, to serve as a trusted support and resource for participants throughout their journey. You will act as a bridge to the community, coordinating services and developing relationships that improve individuals' ability to access and maintain health care, insurance, and housing. Your work will be grounded in the Peer Model, utilizing best practices such as Critical Time Intervention (CTI), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Housing First principles to facilitate access to health services and improve overall health status.
In this position, you will conduct street outreach to produce referrals, regularly check on clients in crisis apartments, and provide timely documentation that adheres to best practice guidelines. The role requires operating from a strength-based approach, de-escalating participants during crises, and collaborating with other service providers to solve complex problems with dignity and respect.
Candidates must be willing to self-identify as a current or former recipient of mental health, substance use, or medical services and possess a willingness to share personal experience appropriately and respectfully. If certified as a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) through the Academy of Peer Services, you will bring immediate expertise; otherwise, you must agree to complete the certification process upon hiring.
