Liberty Resources operates four Crisis Residence locations across Syracuse, Oneida, Oswego, and Auburn, providing community-based residential programs for adults experiencing mental health crises. Our mission is to offer a therapeutic, home-like environment that stabilizes individuals, supports their safe return to the community, and reduces unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, integrated services that honor the cultural beliefs, values, traditions, and health practices of the diverse communities we serve.
As a Peer Specialist in our Onondaga Crisis Residence Program, you will be the heart of our therapeutic environment. This role exists to provide recovery-oriented support to guests facing challenges that cannot be managed in their home settings. You will utilize your lived experience with mental health challenges to share your story, offering hope and practical insight to others on their recovery journey.
In this position, you will foster a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where guests can heal. Your day involves engaging in wellness activities, conflict resolution, and family support while working closely with health homes, hospitals, and treatment providers to develop integrated care plans. You will help guests reframe their relationship with crisis, teaching them to utilize wellness tools to prevent future escalations. Whether working evenings, weekends, or overnights, you will be part of a team dedicated to excellence and staff support, ensuring every guest feels seen, heard, and respected.
We are looking for passionate individuals ready to grow with us. If you are interested in this role, please apply directly through our careers portal.
