About the Team
Liberty Resources operates four Crisis Residence locations in Syracuse, Oneida, Oswego, and Auburn, providing community-based residential programs for adults experiencing mental health crises. Our mission is to offer a therapeutic, home-like environment that stabilizes individuals, supports their safe return to the community, and reduces unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations. To qualify for the Peer Specialist at Liberty Resources position, applicants should have: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent (GED); Certified or provisionally certified by the Office of Mental Health (OMH) as a Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS), Family Peer Advocate (FPA), Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA), or completion of required State approved training within six months; Personal experience with emotional, behavioral, addiction, or co-occurring disorders or as a parent/primary caregiver of a child with such disorders; and Work experience in a behavioral health or related setting, preferably using the recovery model with one to two years of personal recovery experience.
