The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a leading academic medical center dedicated to advancing patient care, education, and research. The Pediatric Cardiac Sonography team operates within the Pediatric Interventional Cardiac and Imaging department, serving as a critical partner to pediatric cardiologists in diagnosing and managing complex congenital heart disease. As a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II, you will provide high-quality echocardiograms essential for interpretation and diagnosis by pediatric cardiologists. Reporting to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiac and Imaging Manager, this role requires independent and efficient performance of clinical pediatric echo operations in both hospital and procedural settings. You will be responsible for entering full preliminary reports and covering all shifts, including call rotations for the Pediatric Echo Lab.
Your day-to-day involves organizing and prioritizing patient exams while contributing to unit teamwork. You will travel to outreach locations to work alongside pediatric cardiologists and support teams, ensuring comprehensive care for patients pre- and post-operatively. This position offers the opportunity to work in diverse environments, including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cath Lab, utilizing advanced imaging techniques such as M-Mode, 2-D, 3-D, Doppler, and color Doppler.
