Childrens Hospital of Michigan (CHM), part of the Detroit Medical Center, has served families since 1886. As a 228-bed childrens hospital and Level 1 trauma center, it holds a longstanding reputation for excellence in pediatric medicine, surgery, and research. CHM trains more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan and is recognized by national publications for its care and research achievements.
You will join a collaborative neurology division with strong volume and established infrastructure. The team includes 11 pediatric neurologists and an expanding epilepsy group comprising 4 board-certified pediatric epileptologists and a clinical neurophysiologist. The program boasts NAEC Level 4 accreditation (the highest level), supports 20+ epilepsy surgeries annually, and operates a neurostimulation clinic offering VNS and RNS. With epilepsy monitoring units in Detroit and Troy supported by overnight Stratus EEG, the division is home to 6 NIH-funded grants and offers multiple pathways for research, publications, and scholarly work.
This position offers a high-impact opportunity to build a pediatric epilepsy practice within a mature, surgical-capable, academic program. You will balance clinical and academic responsibilities, dedicating three weeks of each month to five half-day clinics and one week to EEG studies. Beyond patient care, you will hold a faculty appointment at Central Michigan University College of Medicine, engaging in teaching and mentorship for medical students, residents, and fellows. The role is ideal for a physician with a patient-first approach who is eager to contribute to an environment that values research and education.
