This position serves as a vital support for regularly scheduled procedural services within the Radiation Oncology department at the UCH Rad Oncology at Metro Denver location. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care at a proficient level, utilizing the nursing process in strict accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Your mission is to monitor patients to maintain a safe environment, optimize clinical outcomes, and maximize available resources.
You will work onsite at the UCHealth Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion in Aurora, Colorado, as part of a fast-paced team. The role involves providing specialized nursing care to a complex patient population in a complex environment. You will be responsible for performing and documenting pre/post-procedural monitoring, communicating patient conditions, and ensuring all safety checklists and interventions are implemented. The position requires critical thinking and decisive judgment to handle life-threatening situations with efficiency and composure while reacting to highly stressful scenarios.
Beyond clinical duties, you will evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances. This role demands the ability to work with minimal supervision and take appropriate action in dynamic situations.
