About the Team

Banner Children's Specialists (BCS) is a multispecialty group within Banner Health, actively recruiting a staff Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our team on the campus of Banner Children's at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC) in Mesa, AZ. Our current team includes four experienced Pediatric Endocrinologists, two Nurse Practitioners, and five diabetic educators. BCS provides fully integrated pediatric care to the greater Phoenix area, offering a full array of both primary and specialty care. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who prefers working in a collaborative, integrated system.

About the Role

This position is designed to restore balance for your patients and yourself within a busy practice that features built-in referral sources. You will work alongside a well-established team with built-in mentors and support. Onsite resources include diabetic educators, NP support, and a dietitian, ensuring a complete range of care for the pediatric population.

Serving a pediatric population of 350,000+, Banner Children's at Desert (BDMC) is a state-of-the-art, 206-bed children's hospital opened in November 2009. Designed "Through the Eyes of a Child," the facility prioritizes the comforts of home over an institutional feel, aiming to inspire healing, learning, and imagination. The hospital features non-procedure zones such as the Forever Young Zone, Sophie's Place, and the Big Outside, which are used for music and play therapy, respite, and relaxation. Child Life professionals play an active role in ensuring children feel safe and prepared for the hospital experience, while a volunteer dog therapy program helps cheer up young patients during their stays.

Notable distinctions of the facility include a 120-bed Level 3 NICU staffed by Neonatologists around the clock, a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center designation, and a reputation as a tertiary referral center for the East Valley of metropolitan Phoenix. The hospital is a member of the Children's Hospital Association and is part of Banner Desert Medical Center, one of the largest and most comprehensive facilities in Arizona.

Mesa, AZ is just east of Phoenix and conveniently located near top universities, an international airport, multiple entertainment and outdoor recreation venues, and is home to several professional sports teams.
