Payroll Specialist — Tampa, FL at Lukos

About the Role

This Payroll Specialist position supports the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and its subordinate commands, operating from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. The role is integral to the Manpower Directorate (G-1), providing professional services that span both continental (CONUS) and outside continental (OCONUS) operations within the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for MARCENT personnel regarding pay, entitlements, and deductions. Your day-to-day involves managing the full lifecycle of payroll administration, from validating timesheets and leave records to processing complex adjustments for rank changes, promotions, and special pay. You will conduct audits to identify root causes of errors, recommend procedural improvements, and ensure strict compliance with Department of Defense Financial Management Regulations, Joint Travel Regulations, and federal tax laws. The role requires a high degree of accuracy and discretion when handling sensitive personnel and financial data.

Travel Requirements

This role requires significant mobility. You must be available for travel on less than 24 hours' notice to support personnel recovery and training for forward-deployed forces. Travel may be required throughout the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Responsibility, including countries such as Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others in the region.
