The Payroll Specialist I serves as a critical support function within the District Office, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all district employees, including teachers, administrative staff, and support personnel. This position acts as the primary point of contact for staff regarding payroll-related inquiries, balancing strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations against the need for exceptional customer service.
In this role, you will manage the bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles, handling complex calculations for wages, overtime, and deductions. You will serve as the guardian of sensitive employee data, maintaining confidentiality while resolving discrepancies and managing leave plans. The position requires close collaboration with internal teams and external agencies to ensure seamless operations, from processing extra-duty time sheets to managing automated time and attendance systems.
