About the Role

The Payroll Manager serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Financial Officer, managing all payroll functions for the organization. This role is critical to ensuring the financial integrity of Acero Schools, overseeing the bi-monthly payroll process for over 700 employees across 15 campuses and the central office.

You will work closely with the accounting and human capital teams, fostering a culture of cross-training to build a deep, resilient accounting office. The position requires navigating a fluid environment with multiple priorities, utilizing Paycor to manage complex transactions, and collaborating with external brokers and auditors to resolve issues. As the primary contact for payroll inquiries, you will lead the Finance and Accounting teams in research and reconciliation, ensuring strict compliance with Chicago Teachers Pension Fund requirements and legal standards.
