About the Role
The Assistant, Finance serves as a vital support pillar for the Finance Department, providing essential administrative assistance and data entry. This role is designed to ensure the smooth operation of critical financial functions, with a primary focus on accounts payable, cash counting, and payroll support. You will be the point of contact for resolving vendor balance discrepancies, managing the payment of vendors and performing artists, and preparing cash receipts for deposit. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality, as you will handle sensitive accounting and payroll information while collaborating with team members across departments to support day-to-day operations and special projects.
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a hybrid position requiring a mix of on-site and telework days. The role demands a varied schedule that includes weekdays and occasional weekends, with specific hours dependent on performance metrics and the Finance Department's operational needs. While the Foundation does not offer fully remote work, we provide a flexible work schedule within the hybrid model. Applicants must be physically located in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia for the duration of their employment.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleResearch and resolve vendor balance discrepancies and maintain vendor files
- check_circleEnter timesheet information and assist in the onboarding process for seasonal and variable employees
- check_circleCreate and distribute employee ID cards for regular full-time staff members
- check_circleCollaborate with team members across departments to support general Finance team tasks and operations
- check_circleCount cash receipts, reconcile point of sale registers, and prepare deposits for the Finance Department
- check_circleAssist with payroll processing, including data entry and validation of information in the Paycom system
- check_circleReview invoices and payment requests for documentation, coding, and approval prior to processing payments
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate's degree preferred
- verifiedMinimum two years' relevant experience

Nice to Have
Associate's degree; familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Paycom.
