Hajoca Corporation is one of the country's largest privately-held wholesale distributors of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies. Founded in 1858, Hajoca is built on the principles of "Service, Integrity, Reliability," and on relationships of trust and support with teammates, customers, and suppliers. While Hajoca has played an active role in shaping advances in plumbing, the company attributes its success to a unique business philosophy and talented people.
Although Hajoca is a large company, it operates in a decentralized environment where each location, known as a Profit Center (PC), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A typical Profit Center serves as the heart of the business, consisting of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom. These PCs conduct business under unique trade names, offering a customized approach that honors what is special about each local marketplace.
Hajoca is one of these trade names and is currently seeking a Senior Profit Center Office Administrator for its Compton, CA location. This role is designed for an organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives on analyzing and solving problems to ensure the business runs smoothly.
As a Senior Profit Center Office Administrator, you will serve as a key operational partner within the Profit Center. Your day-to-day impact involves providing training and guidance on administrative tasks to teammates to ensure adherence to company policies and delivery procedures. You will act as an escalated point of contact for customers with inquiries or concerns, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
The role requires managing the financial and administrative backbone of the location. This includes overseeing contracts, vendor relationships, and accounts payable for services such as cleaning, landscaping, and utilities, as well as managing accounts receivable for credit accounts and cash sales. You will maintain daily files for ship tickets, purchase order receivers, deposit backups, and cash journals, performing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reconciliations of all reports contained in the Manager's Checklist.
You will also conduct annual internal audits using the Manager's Compliance Questionnaire to ensure the Profit Center remains in compliance with all administrative policies. The position involves leading onboarding tasks for new teammates, including paperwork, I-9 completion, and benefits enrollment, while developing and maintaining the business's administrative workflow. Additionally, you will handle accurate and timely invoicing, review purchase order debit memos, reconcile cash sale transactions, and manage petty cash.
Hajoca's culture is well-suited for exceptional people who use their talents to drive business and want to share in the financial success their efforts yield. In addition to a competitive starting wage, we offer a Profit-Sharing Program that provides each team member with an opportunity to earn a direct share of the profits on an annual basis.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time team members (working 30 or more hours per week), including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage, as well as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical care coverage. Additional perks include life insurance, long-term disability, pre-tax accounts for healthcare and commuter benefits, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time. We also offer paid pregnancy and parental leave, a paid day of community service, targeted training programs for personal and professional growth, a company wellness program, employee discounts, and college tuition benefits.
