The Parish Accounting Manager serves as the operational leader of the Diocese's centralized parish accounting function. Reporting to the Controller and CFO, this role is pivotal in supporting the continued growth and expansion of financial services across the Diocese's parishes and schools. The position functions as both a supervisor and a hands-on accounting professional, bridging the gap between high-level financial strategy and the day-to-day bookkeeping needs of local ministries.
In this capacity, you will oversee a portfolio of parish and school accounting responsibilities while managing the broader team's workload, accuracy, and performance. You will ensure that all financial operations align with USCCB guidelines and diocesan policies, acting as the primary escalation point for complex accounting issues. The role requires a unique blend of technical accounting expertise and a deep commitment to the Catholic faith, as you will guide parish leadership with financial insight while modeling Gospel values through your work.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered. Supervisory or team leadership experience. Experience in nonprofit, church, school, or faith-based accounting environments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software platforms. Familiarity with payroll systems and payroll accounting practices. Proficiency with Adobe and electronic document management systems. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish). Practical knowledge of Catholic Church structure, parish operations, and diocesan administration. Active participation in the faith community.
