We are seeking an Experienced Captive Manager and Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) practice. This team is dedicated to delivering high-quality outsourced accounting and regulatory filing services specifically for clients in the captive insurance industry.

About the Role
This position is critical for supporting captive insurance entities with all facets of operational accounting. You will serve as a bridge between clients, the captive manager team, actuaries, and external auditors. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting and reporting, overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, and ensuring the accuracy of financial packages for management and boards.
In this fast-paced, client-service environment, you will mentor staff, distribute projects, and manage deadlines across multiple engagements. You will work closely with clients to communicate accounting matters and timelines, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives and the implementation of robust accounting controls.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleCollaborate with actuaries and third-party administrators to support loss reserve analysis
- check_circleAssist external auditors and tax advisors by preparing schedules and supporting documentation

- check_circleRecommend, design, and implement accounting controls, policies, and process improvements
- check_circleReview and supervise Staff Accountants' work including journal entries and reconciliations

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- verified3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- verifiedProficiency with QuickBooks, Sage or similar general ledger systems
- verifiedAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- verifiedStrong understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles (SAP)
- verifiedKnowledge of captive insurance operations
- verifiedCPA license preferred
- verifiedEligibility to work in the United States
Nice to Have
3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferably supporting insurance or captive insurance entities. Experience working with multiple clients or engagements in an outsourced or public accounting environment. Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage or similar general ledger systems. CPA license.
