The Bookkeeper – Vineyard Operations is a critical in-office position supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial administration for a multi-state winery with locations in Kansas, Missouri, and Washington. This role serves as the backbone for maintaining accurate financial records across three distinct winery entities, ensuring seamless operational accounting functions.
You will partner closely with the Director of Vineyard Accounting to ensure timely processing, compliance, and operational reporting. Your work will directly impact the financial health of the organization by managing complex workflows involving accounts payable, accounts receivable, and multi-entity coordination. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and responsiveness while navigating the unique financial landscape of the wine industry.
Your day involves a dynamic blend of transactional precision and cross-functional collaboration. You will process vendor invoices and coordinate payments across multiple entities, ensuring proper coding and documentation. Simultaneously, you will manage customer billing for wholesale accounts, wine club memberships, and event sales, reconciling incoming payments and resolving discrepancies.
Beyond transactional duties, you will serve as a bridge between the finance department and the broader business. You will coordinate with winery leadership, operations management, tasting room staff, and distribution partners to track production expenses, vineyard operations, and hospitality costs. You will also maintain organized electronic filing systems and support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is audit-ready.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment. The interview process will focus on verifying experience with multi-entity accounting, attention to detail, and familiarity with the wine or hospitality sectors.
