About the Role
The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator serves as a vital link between our workforce and the company's administrative infrastructure. This role exists to ensure every employee receives accurate compensation and seamless access to their benefits. You will manage the complexity of both union and non-union payroll across weekly and biweekly cycles, interpreting collective bargaining agreements to guarantee strict compliance. Beyond the numbers, you will be the first point of contact for departmental inquiries, greeting visitors and assisting with intercom communications, fostering a friendly and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProcess weekly and biweekly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule
- check_circleMaintain payroll records including wages, deductions, bonuses, and taxes
- check_circleEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- check_circleReview and reconcile payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies
- check_circleCoordinate payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments
- check_circleAdminister employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans
- check_circleAssist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and claims issues
- check_circleAct as liaison between employees and benefit providers to reconcile billing
- check_circleHandle incoming departmental calls and assist visitors via the intercom system
- check_circleAdminister and support annual open enrollment processes
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- verifiedExperience processing payroll, including weekly and biweekly cycles
- verifiedKnowledge of payroll systems and HRIS platforms
- verifiedFamiliarity with tax laws and benefits regulations
- verifiedUnderstanding benefits compliance (e.g., ACA, ADA, COBRA, and FMLA)
Nice to Have
Experience managing union payroll in compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), including handling union dues, benefits, and contract-specific pay rules. Experience with Paycom.
