At Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS), we believe our people are our strength. Since 1984, we have built a national reputation for excellence, utilizing innovative clinical research, cutting-edge technologies, and advanced treatments to provide world-class cancer care. We are recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) with a national Clinical Trials Participation Award, offering patients access to more clinical trials than any private oncology practice in Florida.
Through our partnership with Sarah Cannon, we are one of the largest clinical research organizations in the United States, often leading the nation in initiating research studies and offering ground-breaking new therapies to patients in a community setting.
The Patient Services Specialist (PSS) serves as a vital link in our medical clinic operations, handling a wide array of clerical duties. This role is unique in its flexibility and collaborative nature. While the position is divided into specific "stations" with distinct duties, every PSS is expected to master and perform all front office functions across the clinic.
You will not be confined to a single station; instead, you will be required to assist co-workers in performing every job duty of a PSS at all times. This cross-functional approach ensures that our team remains agile, allowing us to adapt to different office layouts and changing priorities seamlessly. Success in this role requires strong copywriting and editing skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to consistently manage time-sensitive priorities in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
All offers of employment at FCS are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background screening. As a condition of employment, new hires must receive various vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine (barring an approved exemption). Additionally, FCS is a drug-free workplace, and all new hires will be subject to drug and nicotine testing; medical marijuana cards are not recognized.
FCS is committed to helping individuals with disabilities participate in the workforce and ensuring equal opportunity to compete for jobs. We are an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.
