As a Patient Experience Representative I in Hemodialysis, you serve as the vital first point of contact for patients undergoing a life-sustaining treatment. In this specialized unit, patients are connected to a dialyzer, a large machine that continuously filters their blood before returning it to their bloodstream. Your role is to ensure this critical process is supported by a welcoming, efficient, and compassionate environment.
You will be responsible for providing positive customer service to patients, families, and visitors, guiding them through their visit with care. Your day involves greeting and registering patients, scheduling encounters, and coordinating daily flow to optimize the patient experience. You will also manage essential administrative tasks, including verifying demographic and insurance information, completing medication prior authorizations, and maintaining accurate records in Epic and Excel. Additionally, you will support the transplant unit with clerical needs, manage inventory, and generate patient identification materials.
This position operates Monday through Friday, along with every other Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. When working a Saturday shift, the employee is scheduled to have Wednesday off that same week.
This role is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus (terms and taxes apply; not eligible for internal candidates, BCH or agency temps, or former employees who have worked here in the past 12 months). The posted pay range reflects Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this position at the time of posting, with final offers determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
